Another Afternoon In Morecambe

July 25th, 2006

Spent another afternoon wandering Morecambe Bay looking for images. Rather than my usual problems of fighting against the elements of weather and ever changing qualities of light. I found my pictures limited by the number of people around. I’m not used to this bay being used like a normal beach. It made finding peopleless shots very difficult indeed.

Morecambe Promonade

July 23rd, 2006

I was wandering Morecambe promonade, waiting for the sun to start going down before I took some sunset shots over the bay from a spot I had chosen already at the jetty. I happened upon this old tea hut next to the site where the swimming baths used to stand. Now they just hold funfairs in this space in the summer. But this is winter and its so cold my hands are numb. I noticed the way the sun was bouncing off the bright white of the hut and just had to capture the desolation of the scene in general. There wasn’t a soul around the whole time i was there. This is how i feel generally in Morecambe.
